WOOD
| Wall-sculptures are hewn from a solid log whilst still green (wet) by rough-shaping the outside first then hollowing-out the inside. This is necessary for the wood to dry relatively quickly, basically eliminate checking and become light-in-weight. After 5 - 6 months of careful air-drying, some have flippers/fins added-on then they are finished in a long process that includes a plywood back being added complete with large hole/s for mounting on a wall. |
