Great Blue Whale
European Beech
5' in length
This is a living creature of superlatives ie. longest, loudest & heaviest (with throat extended it can contain over 1000 tons of water). Known to the whalers-of-old as the 'sulphur-bottom' because of its yellow underside caused by diatoms in the antarctic waters where feeds on krill (small shrimp-like creatures) at certain times of the year.
This single chunk of european beech wood is tough, hard and the surface finishes silky-smooth. It will also darken over time and take on a richer hue.
